Fox’s Gotham series is getting even more interesting in the casting department as the studio announced it has cast Jada Pinkett Smith to play a villain in the series.

Pinkett Smith has been cast to play Fish Mooney, a gangster with a short tempter.

More and more it seems actors that have mostly been known for big screen work, are finding reasons to go to the small screen Рmostly monetary. Beyond the bigger budgets television studios have at their disposal, the ability of the actor to portray the character for longer than two hours has to be a big draw as well.  This of course circles back around to money, as actors can get residuals that continue to come in for a longer period of time when a television show goes to syndication.

Regardless, as the cast continues to grow, my interest in Gotham does as well.
