Ever wanted to have your favorite planeswalker from Magic: The Gathering sitting on your desk, giving you inspiration throughout the day? Thanks to Funko that dream is now possible.
Announced at Toy Fair in New York yesterday, Funko unveiled two different lines of Magic: The Gathering figures based on the planeswalkers featured in the game. Fans will be able to pick up a character in Funkos popular Pop! Vinyl line and in the larger, more articulated Legacy figure line.
The Pop! Vinyl figures will feature characters Jace Beleren, Garruk Wildspeaker, Chandra Nalaar, Liliana Vess, Ajani Goldmane and Nissa Revane standing at 3.75″ tall and available to purchase in April.
Funko teamed with sculptors from Gentle Giant to release a Legacy Collection line of Magic: The Gathering figures that will have over 20 points of articulation and removable accessories. No word yet on when the Legacy figures will be released.
As far as my money goes, I would certainly be more interested in snagging a few of the Pop! Vinyl figures, especially Ajani. Of course, if you are looking to have your figures fight and recreate any battles, the Legacy Collection to lend itself better to that due to the hight points of articulation and the removable weapons that are included.
So, what figures will you be picking up in 2014? Just Jace? Chandra? Let it be known in the comments below!

I hope there are plans for expanding the lineup outside of the planeswalkers. While these are cool, I think many MtG players identify more with their favorite iconic summoned creatures. For example, I would love to see Akroma in the legacy series and in the regular Pop Vinyl as well.
I’d love to see a Popvinyl Akroma, but mostly because the guys at the card shop used to call me “Little Akroma”.
