There are a couple of big casting rumors that have popped up in the last 24 hours that are worth repeating for no other reason than to spread gossip and give you a set-up for the Shocked Truck is Shocked post coming up momentarily.  Keep in mind casting rumors are simply that – rumors until contracts are signed, but if you want to know who might play Lex Luthor and Ant-Man, then read on, Dear Spoilerite!

Batman vs. Superman vs. Wonder Woman vs. Flash vs. Lex Luthor

First up is an interesting rumor that Warner Bros. is in talks with Joaquin Phoenix to play Lex Luthor.  That certainly is an interesting choice, especially when last week the rumor had Phil Morris shaving his head to play Superman’s nemesis.  More than likely this rumor sprang up because Oscar buzz is hot right now on Phoenix’s Her movie that opened this week.

Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na ANT-MAN

The other bit of casting news has Paul Rudd playing Ant-Man in Edgar Wright’s adaptation of the Marvel super-hero.  This one has stronger legs than the Lex Luthor bit, but only a little bit as the story is actually stating Rudd is in early negotiations to play the character. That’s a far cry from contracts are signed and a costume has been fitted.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt was also rumored for the part, but with his participation in Warner Bros. Sandman adaptation, don’t think we’ll see a little JGL on the big screen.
