As a youth, I was fascinated by my cousin’s copy of the Superman/Spider-Man tabloid comic book, knowing just enough about comics to realize that the two characters didn’t usually interact. Batman/Incredible Hulk followed, but it would be a decade and a half before they really started kicking out the metaphorical super-schmozz jams with Marvel Vs. DC, Spider-Man/Batman, Batman/Captain America and… Honestly, mostly just random guys with Batman, now that I think of it. There was an interesting miniseries in which a character with the epically uninspiring name of “Access” crossed back and forth, even merging the heroes together ala the Amalgam crossovers, but the comics industry is nearly as petty and vindictive as the professional wrestling game, and bad blood ended the crossovers some years ago. Still, as a power-nerd of three decades standing, I find it occasionally fascinating to play what if, to wonder what might have been in a world where editorial camps didn’t have to be such schmucks, which in turn begs a query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) wouldn’t mind seeing Defenders/Justice Society Of America, but only circa 1977, asking: If Marvel and DC Comics were to work out their differences, what inter-company team-up would you want to see first?

Miles Morales / Blue Beetle – Teenage angst
Sinister Six / Thunderbolts — Villains United
Deadpool / Pre-nu52 Lobo – Destruction and humor
Nightwing / DareDevil – Acrobatic soap opera
Amanda Waller / Nick Fury – Let the scheming begin
The Deadpool / Lobo meet up is ripe for a phenomenal and hilarious tale
Agreed, there’s way too much potential there :)
Booster Gold / Wonder Man – Hollywood hams
Green Lantern Corps / Nova Corps – Battle of the intergalactic corps
Uncle Sam / Captain America – America the beautiful
Batman / Punisher – Battle of the brooding
Flash / The Ultimates Quicksilver – Faster than fast
Teen Titans / Young Avengers – Sidekicks/junior versions unite!
@Sog – Can’t you picture Booster and Wonderman trying to out-shill each other like two competing used car salesmen.
I think I would be satisfied if Marvel can get Sony, Fox and Disney to play nice and allow crossovers on theatrical and TV properties.
Strange/Constantine
Hawkeye/green arrow a one shot maybe
One shot? Ouch. That was punishing.
A really really well written Batman/Spider-Man story that deals with the tragedy both men have had in their lives.
Superior Spider-Man/Lex Luthor
Joker/Loki – I want that series to happen so very badly – and I want it to really be large scale, one of those things were you can’t trust anything because of either a) You think it may be one of Loki’s schemes or b) You think it’s driving you juuuust a little crazier.
Kyle Rayner/Peter Parker – Just ’cause they’re my two favourite characters from each respective universe.
Martian Manhunter/Vision – I have no clue what the story would be about but the idea gives me chills a little bit. Good chills.
Wonder Woman/Captain Marvel – Because that would kick all the ass. It would just rock. It would be the rockiest.
Deathstroke/Taskmaster – Because I think those two would have an incredible lot to learn from each other and would just be the deadliest most badass pairing in the history of mercenary team-ups.
I have to stop now because I don’t think I’m going to run out of things I desperately want to see.
Wow. I was trying to match up the Vision and couldn’t quite think of the right pairing. J’onn would be perfect. Now I REALLY want to see that one…
I’d like to see Access return to his role as the person keeping the universes apart and see him deal with events that have happened since the last event he was involved in, which would include such crossovers as Blackest Night/Marvel Zombies, Flashpoint/Age of Ultron and so on.
I’d also like to see TOEI’s Spider-Man vs Batman Beyond, including a giant robot battle (I’m sure old Bruce probably has something stored away that Terry hasn’t seen yet). Never gonna happen, but I still want to see it.
I could list a hundred but at this moment there is only one, accept no substitutes: Howard the Duck & Captain Carrot and the Amazing Zoo Crew.
I’ll admit I was a bit surprised they didn’t do something like that during the DC vs Marvel event in the late 90’s, but I wasn’t too upset since we did get the awesome “Lobo the Duck”.
It really boils down to me really wanting a proper revival of both series. Even though I don’t have nearly complete collections of either originals.
I agree it’d be nice to see some new stories from those.
Warlock and the Metal Men.
Speedball and Bouncing Boy.
None of the above. Can we get another Hellboy/Batman team-up instead
