Comics have been making their way to the silver screen for years now, even if the larger public isn’t aware of the source material. I, Frankenstein is sure to be another film that many won’t realize comes from the funny pages, but maybe after watching they will search out the book. Watch the first trailer for I, Frankenstein now, right after the jump!

Written for the screen and directed by Beattie, I, Frankenstein is based on the graphic novel by Kevin Grievous, and is brought to life by a cast that also includes Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young as Victor Frankenstein.

I, Frankenstein comes to theaters January 24, 2014.
