It’s a sad fact of pop culture that many of our heroes have terrible fashion sense. Moreover, many of the greatest names in the history of fictional awesome wear the same thing over and over with little or no variation. Granted this is seen more often with cartoons (such as Fred Jones’ darling orange ascot), but even Peter Parker rocked the same navy-blue sweater vest until at least 1973 or so. Thinking about that particular quandary, I realized today that it’d be best to be the Fifth Doctor, whose ensemble has a sweater and coat for warm temperatures, a rolled-up Trilby hat for brightly lit habitats, comfortable shoes and sufficiently rugged pants to survive tough terrain, while remaining relatively “normal” looking. (This is one of the few situations where the Sixth Doctor’s heavy coat wouldn’t be a winning factor.) In any case, this line of though begs a query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) also wouldn’t mind the Kingpin, although purple pinstriped pants might leave me occasionally over-dressed, asking: If you had to choose one fictional character’s single-outfit-wardrboe to wear for the rest of your life, who would it be and why?

If I had to choose one outfit to wear for the rest of my life, it would need to be versatile and functional. For this reason I chose the Jedi robes. The cloak can shield you from the weather, and they are durable and easy to repair.
The Tenth Doctor is a pretty snappy dresser. I like a sharp suit, so I’m going with that.
Doesn’t he technically have TWO outfits? :) Blue for one direction in time, brown for the other?
I’m going to have to go with the brownish suit of the 10th. Not only is the suit and coat a pretty timeless kind of thing, but also the Converse. Love those.
Depends on what I was expected to do for the rest of my life. The generic outfit of “The Dude” seems mighty comfortable…
As much as I don’t care for this iteration of the doctor, I would pick the 11th doctor’s current outfit, purple frock coat with lighter purple waistcoat…a little off-beat but fashionable…and versatile

You, sir, are a brave genius soul.
And I salute you.
Inspector Gadget!
Easy.
I could boil my entire wardrobe down to one green ring, and the lantern needed to charge it.
Here, Here!
Harry Dresden’s ratty T-shirt, jeans, boots and duster. Comfortable and easy to maintain.
Frank has a good point, but I think I’ll go with a nice full Judge Dredd outfit, as long as I get a motorcycle with it.
Could I go with Celestine from Warhammer 40K, because that’d be pretty Bad-Assed.
If not, I’ll take Zoe Washburn’s outfit, I like practicality.
Dejah Thoris.
Yowza!
I would take the Aquaman outfit anyday.

Pretty cunning hat, isn’t it?
I think I’d go with either the 7th Doctor or the 11th.
Constantines outfit. Comfy and fits my style.
