Vin Diesel’s return to the role of Riddick will see him captured and in the hands of mercenaries looking to cash in on the bounty on Riddick’s head. Watch as he earns their trust before heading out to slay some monsters in the most recent trailer.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.

Riddick opens in theaters across the country on September 6.

“Okay, so we need a new vehicle for Vin Diesel, but he won’t shut up about this Riddick character.”

“So let’s just make a new Riddick movie.”

“But everyone hated the last movie.”

“Yeah but see they loved the first one, so let’s just do that one again.”

“What do you mean do that one again?”

“I mean we take the script, hire a couple of writers to change it up a bit, slap on a fresh coat of paint. Then we change the way the monsters look a little bit, recast it, and we got ourselves a guaranteed hit.”

    “Are people gonna buy that?”

“Eh, if we put enough explosions in people will watch anything.”
