We showed you the marketing campaign happening at Comic Con this year to promote Dawn of the Planet of the Apes yesterday, but today we can show you the first image released of the movie. Have to say, it’s slightly terrifying.

A group of scientists in San Francisco struggle to stay alive in the aftermath of a plague that is wiping out humanity, while Caesar (Andy Serkis) tries to maintain dominance over his community of intelligent apes.

FirstImageAndy Serkis is back to play Caesar this time around and he looks fairly bad-ass.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is currently scheduled for a worldwide release on July 18 of next year.
