Major Spoilers Poll of the Week
Comics and video games seem to go hand in hand, and this week, we not only get a dose of cool comics, the news from E3 now has two new gaming systems headed our way.?
Discussion:
Shang-Chi is a Marvel Comics character, often called the “Master of Kung Fu”. He was created by writer Steve Englehart and artist Jim Starlin.
He has no special superpowers, but he exhibits extraordinary skills in the martial arts and is a master of Wushu (the actual Mandarin name for the various Chinese fighting arts) both empty handed and with weapons, including the staff, nunchaku and double-edged sword.

I just want to defend a little bit “Revolution”. Yeah there is major if not huge plot holes. Yeah the scientifics bases are thin or non existant. But it’s a good story. You have to suspend your disbeliefs and enjoy it for what it is. Not a Stanley Kubrick movie but a good entertainement.
It’s like watching a guy in a stretch blue costume with a red cape doing all these things. You know it’s not real. But you enjoy it anyway!
Keep up the good work guys! I’m glad to be a sponsor of your work even it I don’t leave comments often!
The launch PS3’s were backwards compatible. The 360 is backwards compatible with a very small number of original Xbox games.
The anti-consumer policies in place in the Xbox One (hereafter referred to as “Xbone”) are irritating. Perhaps even more disconcerting is the number of uninformed consumers who will blindly buy it (the potential for a massive backlash during the holidays seems quite high given Microsoft’s changing stances, obfuscation and unwillingness to give clear answers on, well, anything other than price), and even more worrying than THAT is the number of people aware of the policies who will buy the console out of blind loyalty or that think “I don’t have internet problems or ever rent/sell games, so it doesn’t affect me” and thus implicitly tell Microsoft that they’re on the right track.
Now, I do have to take a step back and say from a business perspective, MS is just trying to leverage how PC gaming works into the console space, it seems. In and of itself, that move could make sense, even if they’re poorly executing it. It seems likely that the Xbone was intended to be a download-only console, in which case most of this hubbub probably wouldn’t exist.
However, their responses–which include gems such as “If consumers don’t like an always-online, Kinect required console, they should buy a 360”, “consumers will buy the Xbone in spite of these policies because they don’t really pay attention to details”, “people in the military that won’t have access to the internet abroad should just use their 360” and “it’s no different than Steam on a PC”–are absurd. The last point in particular is particularly infuriating because it’s patently false, but I digress. This may be the first time I’ve heard a company essentially encouraging people to NOT buy their product, and I think that’s great advice. Charging a price premium for a less powerful console with hyper-restrictive DRM and all kinds of invasive policies doesn’t seem to make any sense, but I fear that the console will still be a success, meaning that the next iteration will be even worse.
Oh, one more point of clarification. Last I heard, consumers will be able to buy and sell used Xbone games at “authorized resellers as determined by the publishers”. So I’d assume that Gamestop, for example, will still be able to take part in those transactions; however, mom & pop stores, as well as eBay and Amazon marketplace sales, will likely dry up.
At the rate they’re going, MS may well have changed this policy 3 times in the last two days, however.
