Lego has announced a new Star Wars collection that should make Return of the Jedi fans happy. The Lego Ewok Village is here!
Travel to Endor™ and visit the treetop home of the Ewoks. Just like in Star Wars™: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, this recreation of the Ewoks’ forest dwelling is packed with cool functions, including the tree-trunk hideout, secret Lightsaber stash, spider web, net traps, slide, catapults and an elevating throne. Use the rammer function to take out the Scout Trooper’s speeder − just like in the movie! Realistic details include rope walkways, vine and leaf elements, kitchen, food storage area, bedroom and a planning room. The Ewok Village set is the perfect addition to your LEGO® Star Wars collection. Includes R2-D2™and 17 minifigures with weapons: Luke Skywalker™, Princess Leia™, Han Solo™, Chewbacca™, C-3PO™, 2 Rebel soldiers, 5 Ewoks™ (including Wicket™, Teebo™, Chief Chirpa™ and Logray™), 2 Scout Troopers and 2 Stormtroopers™
It’s an impressive set, but with a $249.99 price, this one is going to be a hard sell as I try to convince The Wife that this is something “we need.”
The 1,990 piece set arrives in September 2013.

I was about to say that I bet they were just going to give this thing away. I’ve always wanted a little Lego Darth Vader, but I haven’t been willing to shell out $75+ to buy a Lego set just to get that… I remember when Lego just came in a box, not in special sets, and it was up to you to use your imagination to decide what you could build out of it. My favorite thing was to build phasers, communicators and tricorders out of it so we could play Star Trek.
They do have smaller kits with well-known characters. I got my Vader in a $5 or $10 kit (can’t remember which, but I rarely buy the larger kits except on clearance or from stores closing down). And at one time they even had a set where you could buy single character figures for like $1, but those usually come out around Christmas.
I hate that most stores like Wal-Mart only carry the theme sets. Even Toys R Us isn’t guaranteed to have the old “just legos” boxes because I had to search all over to find that for my goddaughter. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the kits, I just hate how limited they can be if you can’t find the box or bucket of assorted LEGO bricks too.
I remember the same thing.. I had those copy paper boxes full of them and the platforms you could use with the roads on them.. I miss those days!!
i wish you could buy it in smaller peices and get it a part at a time.. i don’t have 250 dollars for legos..no matter how cool it isd
