While I’m partial to my nightly tumbler full of Mangria, the next time I sit down to watch a Star Trek movie, my glass may just be filled with wine that asks me to boldly go where no one has gone before.
The Vinasa Winery in Sonoma, California has figured out a way to appeal to the Trek crowd by coming up with three different bottles with unique labels that pay homage to popular Star Trek episodes.
Each of the labels has been designed by famous artist, Juan Ortiz. Commissioned by CBS, Juan Ortiz has created a collection of 80 original prints to commemorate each episode of The Original Series (including the unaired pilot episode).
I don’t know if I’m a The City on the Edge of Forever, or a Mirror Mirror kind of guy… however, knowing how my benders usually wind up, as case of the Trouble with Tribbles will probably find its way into my chiller.
Oh, what kind of wine is it?
The wine used in this collection is produced from the award-winning Viansa Winery in Sonoma, California. It is a special blend of Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Dolcetto, Tinta Cao, and Tempranillo. The blend comes together to create a medium-bodied, easy drinking red wine that is full of depth and character.
The collection is on pre-sale now for a price of $24.99 each, or a full collector’s case (4 bottles of each) for $285.00.
