In 2011, DC relaunched their entire line with the New 52. In September, the company is tossing everything out and giving it to the villains. Before you freak out, the villains will only take over the DC line-up for one month, though some new number ones are on the way.
According to Dan DiDio in an interview with Buzzfeed, “This September we wanted to try something a little different and really explore our villain base, and show the challenges our heroes face with every story and every issue, because of the strength of the characters taking over their books in that month.”
The series is spinning out of Trinity War, which will lead to the first major crossover in the New 52 called Forever Evil. Forever Evil will be a seven issue limited series. If you’re confused as to why Trinity War isn’t the first New 52 crossover, Jim Lee is quick to point out that that event only happens in the Justice League books.
In addition to the tweaks presented in the regular series, DiDio hinted in the interview that there may be new villain only series (Joker, Lex Luthor, etc.) and he suggested that there would be villains readers haven’t seen in the New 52.
The biggest gimmick for this event are motion covers for every book released in September. (Click the thumbnails to see the motion covers).
How much is all of this going to set you back? $3.99. We’ll see if the price drops in October back to the $2.99 price point DC prided itself on for so long.

Luckily, it looks like I already get the titles i’m interested in. I’m a bit confusd about Earth 2 though. I know Desaad is in the Huntress and Power girl title.I wonder how that ties into Earth 2, apart from them being from there.
