A number of sources are reporting that Benicio Del Toro has been hired for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie from Marvel Studios.

Many of those same sites claim that Del Toro is taking a lead role in the movie, which could many anything when you think about it. Chris Pratt has already been cast as Star-Lord, and Dave Bautista is playing Drax the Destroyer, so that leaves Rocket Raccoon or Groot, right?

What if Del Toro isn’t playing a hero?

Over the last couple of days, we’ve heard reports coming out about the villains being cast for the flick, could Del Toro be playing the biggest bad of them all, Thanos? Does that mean Karen Gillan could play Death?

According to Deadline, the deal is a multi-movie contract, and if Del Toro is playing the big bad, it could point to bigger story lines for the rest of the Marvel movie franchises.

Of course, I still like the thought of Del Toro playing a talking raccoon.

Only if Rocket Raccoon talks like Fenster.

We assume that Thanos is a part of The Avengers 2, so who knows.

As much as he looks like a tree, there’s also the possibility they’ll have Adam Warlock make an appearance to set up the Infinity Gauntlet.
