I expected to see lots of lens flairs upon reading this title.
I’ve been strenuously avoiding reviews since I want to form my own opinion. I am enjoying these little episodes, though. One of the major problems with Next Generation was that Roddenberry had obviously not watched any Trek for a long time before he did it – he made the characters and situations “too perfect”, forgetting that TOS was full of flawed characters and conflict and rule breaking. As a result, the first few seasons of NG were too sterile. The other producers got away from the “everything’s perfect” premise of NG but the Next Gen movies were all a little lacking – and I think, quite frankly, that Star Trek needs to be a weekly TV series to keep the momentum alive. As a series of movies that only came out every 3-4-5-or 7 years, too much was lost. I like the J.J. Abrams reboot movie, but I think if he is going to continue the movie series, he and Paramount need to steal a page from Peter Jackson’s book and produce a whole series at one fell swoop and release them once a year.
