Diamond Comic Distributors has released the market share breakdown for April, and it isn’t a huge surprise that Marvel placed first in both unit share and dollar share categories. Compared to the month to month numbers, sales dipped by five percent compared to March, but up by over 12-percent compared to a year ago at this same time, putting the overall sales up 16-percent for the year.

Take the jump for a breakdown of the top publishers for April 2013.

So, let’s say for one moment you got Didio, Lee, & Nelson in a room and pumped them full of truth serum.

    New-52. Success or failure?

Overall comic sales are up, which they can take some credit for I guess, particular as these are the Diamond #’s, not inclusive of Digital.

    …but they still trail Marvel.
