Horror movies have a general history of updating/remaking the terrifying films of old and that tradition continues on with the upcoming Kimberly Pierce directed remake, Carrie. Full length trailer is after the jump.

Now I have never seen the original Carrie (big surprise, I know), but it sure does seem that this entire trailer shows an entire movie. I did bite with the phone number at the end and gave it a call. It features a small portion of audio from the trailer plus two characters talking directly to you. At the end you can opt in for the studio to make calls and texts to your phone.

Carrie arrives in theaters October 2013.

So it’s not enough that they’re basically doing a shot-for-shot remake of a 40 year old movie, they have to show the entire thing in the trailer. The original was a visionary achievement by a young Brian DePalma and featured Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie. That trailer has the production values of an episode of One Tree Hill. Go now and watch the original before this thing ruins Carrie for you completely.
