SOLICITATIONS: IDW Limited announces second volume of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Following the incredible success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Collection (Vol. 1), IDW Limited announced plans today to explode from the sewers for Volume 2 of the Ultimate Collection (http://www.idwlimited.com/series/tmnt.html)! TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman will continue his involvement with the series, providing signatures and original, hand-drawn artwork for the high-end Black Label and Blue Label editions.
The book will be offered in the IDW Limited multi-tiered system of increasing rarity, with Kevin Eastman signing each copy as well as providing complete colored artwork for the Blue Label and Black Label editions. Buyers of the Black Label edition will also be able to choose which hand-rendered Turtle brother they want to accompany their book. Many fans have dreamed about owning a consignment piece by Kevin Eastman, and IDW Limited is making that dream a reality.
“This series has been an absolute blast!” says TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman. “To think of how far we’ve come, from when Pete (Laird) and I first self-published these issues on pulp paper, to this absolutely over-the-top amazing presentation. It’s with utmost pride that I can say: this is the best it’s ever looked. This is it. Make room on the top shelf of your bookcase, because that’s where these belong.”
Limited to 325 copies, the Red Label edition of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Collection, Volume 2 will be housed in a custom slipcase and personally hand-signed by Kevin Eastman. The Black Label edition, limited to 10 copies for each of the four Turtles, will be housed in handcrafted tray cases and will include an original, hand-drawn, fully colored illustration of one of the four Ninja Turtles. The extremely rare Blue Label edition will reward fans with a uniquely designed, hand-drawn, fully colored illustration by Eastman featuring all four Turtles and their master, Splinter.
“Almost immediately after we launched Volume One, we started getting e-mails about Volume Two,” says IDW Director Jerry Bennington. “These books are really sparking interest with the fans. It’s a way to collect your favorite stories in a treasured way. The casing, the covers, the Remarque signatures from Kevin. This is the book you want to have in your collection. They are a beautiful presentation of this iconic series.”
