Press Release

We already know that one of the Uncanny X-Men is a traitor, so can we eliminate those seen on this promotional image for Uncanny X-Men #5 that Marvel has sent out? Marvel’s big month of April continues to be pushed in the image after the jump.

This April, Cyclops’ master plan comes together in Uncanny X-Men #5, kicking off the all-new story arc from the blockbuster creative team of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Frazer Irving! As part of Marvel NOW!, Uncanny X-Men raises the stakes for Mutantkind, as the industry’s top creators join the top Super Heroes to deliver all-new ongoing series, great for new and lapsed readers alike!

Deep in the caverns of the old Weapon X facility, Cyclops is training the next great generation of Mutantkind in the Charles Xavier School for Mutants! With new mutants popping up all across the Marvel Universe, Cyclops and his team must race to recruit. But will there be anyone to turn him down?

“Brian and Frazer are bringing you a whole new take on Mutantkind — and it will have major ramifications on the Marvel Universe,” said Axel Alonso, Editor In Chief, Marvel Entertainment. “Whether you root for Cyclops, hate him, or a little bit of both, everything you thought about Mutants will be turned on its head.”

Marvel NOW! is the culmination of Marvel ReEvolution, the groundbreaking new initiative to evolve the comic book experience through innovation. With Uncanny X-Men, Marvel NOW! ensures fans will discover an entirely new perspective in the adventures of the X-Men.

Each issue of Uncanny X-Men includes a code for a free digital copy on the Marvel Comics app (for iPhone®, iPad®, iPad Touch® & Android devices). Additionally, each issue of Uncanny X-Men features special augmented reality content available exclusive through the Marvel AR app – including cover recaps, behind the scenes features and more that add value to your reading experience at no additional cost.

An all-new direction! An all-new team! All-new threats! This is Uncanny X-Men NOW!

  1. im kind of interested in this series. For so long now the x-men have been less about indifference towards human or mutant. And more about protection of the ‘species’ – which has kind of rubbed me the wrong way – so this is the logical next step of theirs.
