There’s a new trailer for the Evil Dead remake, and this one is bloody and violent, so make sure you are alone (and the lights are turned down low) when you press play.

The origianl Evil Deads and Army of Darkness were fun because they were campy and over the top, not to mention the awesomeness of Bruce Campbell. This just looks disgusting.
The originals, if I am not mistaken, were meant to be disturbing. They just didn’t turn out that way. I love the originals for what they are and I think this one looks fantastic. I get all excited with the familiar scenes while still being freaked out. I’m in.
The first one was a stab at being serious. The second one was essentially a reimanging of the first, and knowingly played with funny-campy, slap-stick elements. Basically a horror-comedy.
The third one is pretty obviously more comedy than horror. In fact, I tend to think of it as more of an action comedy, than a horror movie.
This one looks like a cool update, and throw-back to the original. I really, really want to see Ash in there, but not sure it would serve the purposes of the movie…
Ohh two of those kinds of scenes where they twist lesbianism by adding gore to disgust us, yeaahhhh, ummm, where’s the slapstick?
This feels more like a Jennifers Body than anything.
Cabin in the Woods feels more like a successor to Evil Dead then this.
Funny you mention Jennifer’s Body, as Diablo Cody helped polish up the dialogue/script on this Evil Dead remake.
