A whole slew of new books were announced last week at New York Comic Con. The exact figure comes somewhere close to the amount of Slave Leia’s that were cosplayed. I of course have no source for that little factoid, but it just seems right. Anyways, take the jump for two new series coming from Marvel in 2013.
In February, Brian Michael Bendis and Steve McNiven will be releasing Guardians of the Galaxy #0.1. The book will feature the characters that are set to appear in the upcoming Guardians movie with Starlord, Groot, Rocket Racoon, Drax, and Gamora, but that’s not it. It appears that Marvel’s resident hunk of metal genius Iron Man will also be featured. Did Marvel let a plot line out before the movie hits theaters? Hopefully not. Look for the true #1 in March.
Also launching in February will be Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness’s new series Nova. Sam Alexander, the newest member of the Nova corps, will be the focal point of the series and that sums up what we know about Nova. If the cover art is an indication of what we will see on the inside I will defiantly be checking it out for that alone.
That’s just two books in the whole mess of number ones Marvel is putting out over the next several months, and I have to say, I’m looking forward to more and more of them.

Have another five years gone by? Seriously though, you could set your watch by GotG and Nova relaunches.
