When I was a kid like young Zach, I used to enjoy sitting up each weekend to watch episodes of Saturday Night Live on the Quasar TV I bought for 12 dollars. (That sentence is awful, and yet I’m somehow proud of it.) I vividly recall some of the most memorable moments of SNL first-hand, including the assassination of Buckwheat (“brought to you by Mutual Life, because YOU could die tomorrow!”), the television debut of Spinal Tap, and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss’ impersonation of MTV’s Nina Blackwood. Many of the jokes and bits of business stick with me to this day and I have continued watching the show periodically throughout the years, even though I consider myself to be a casual fan at best.
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is that thing, where a midget on roller skates wears all your clothes, and you, like, pull them through the airport, asking: What bits of pop-culture do you find yourself revisiting over and over again, regardless of their quality or changes in tone or direction?

There are a number of movies that I keep coming back to, but none more than the Star Wars movies. From the brilliance of Empire, to the blandness of Clones.
Other pop-culture contenders: Buffy, Red Dwarf and the works of Steven Spielberg. Each of them can cure a bad mood, and heal illness.
It may not quite qualify, but Christmas: Movies; music; and that fuzzy feeling that they create.
Super hero comics. Nothing ever really changes about them, but yet I still pick up title after title.
I may not enjoy every offering from Star Wars (such as Greedo shooting first or some of the retcons) but overall it is still one of my favorite settings. From the cohesive novel universe (where what happens in one book still exists in the next, unlike Star Trek novels) is where I tend to get the most enjoyment other than the original trilogy, but I also enjoy bits of the prequels (Yoda’s fight scene), the animated Clone Wars series (we got to see Dathomir, my favorite world, quite a bit last season!) and some of the games (not all, though).
Similarly, I tend to stick with Doctor Who, Everquest and Green Lantern through thick and thin as well, and to a lesser degree Star Trek.
Batman shows, of which there have been many incarnations.
Batman, doesn’t matter if its animated, Nolanverse, Burtons movies, comics, graphic novels, literary novels or video games. I know I will probably like it, cause Batman is awesome.
I keep revisiting Kamen Rider W (pronounced Double) and keep loving it. Normally I don’t like the hard-boiled detective-style stories but this show makes me love it.
Filmation cartoons. Maybe it’s because I grew up with them or learned about why their quality was what it was when I was older & tried to be an animation lay-historian, but I can’t help but love them. And occassionally quote them.
