Now, another monster is rising in the warm blue waters surrounding Taru Taru, a speck of land far out in the Pacific. And this time it’s worse than anyone ever imagined.

Discussion:
Spider-Man Blue
“It’s about remembering someone so important to me I was going to spend the rest of my life with her.” What Peter Parker didn’t know was that meant Gwen Stacy would only get to spend the rest of her life with him. This is the story of how they fell in love. Or more appropriately, how they almost didn’t fall in love. Welcome to Spider-Man’s life. Bad before good. It’s kind of amazing. So to get the girl of his dreams, he’ll have to run the gauntlet of the Green Goblin, the Rhino, two Vultures and a mysterious man in the shadows controlling it all. Join the Eisner Award-winning team of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale (Superman for All Seasons, Batman: The Long Halloween, DAREDEVIL: YELLOW, HULK: GRAY) in the story about Peter Parker’s first love, Gwen Stacy. Highlighted by the introduction of Mary Jane Watson, it is a critical moment in Spider-Man’s life when everything was just coming together – only to fall apart. Collecting SPIDER-MAN: BLUE #1-6.

I was so sad that Rob was gone – but Zach was GREAT.
Best thing ever to have those yong cracker-snappers on the show.
One thing I would add to your talk about Daredevil is Marvel/Disney doesn’t have to put Daredevil in there main movie universe. The resent film Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance was under Marvel Knights banner and to my knowledge as no ties to the Avengers. They did this as well with 2008 Punisher film. So, if Marvel wants to make darker film nothing says it has to tie into the Avengers film universe.
I would also add if Marvel could get the Fantastic 4 back I would love to see Ghost Rider in the Fantastic 4 it would give very different vibe than fox Fantastic 4 films. Which brings up another point is a Silver Surfer move was planed with Straczynski writing the script, but after lackluster block office for FF2. The Silver Surfer movie was called off.

Terrific comment/insight by Rodrigo RE: Spider-man Blue’s use of color schemes in the bookends. Peter’s married to MJ, a terrific gal whom he loves. But it isn’t the love of his life…she’s dead…because of him…
“Snap” non-withstanding, Gwen was only in that situation because of her relationship with Peter. And she died for it. Peter goes on though, with Spider-man and with his life. But he’s paying a price, every day, for it. A heavy one.
That highlight’s one of the recurring themes of the best Spider-man stories. Not “with great power comes great responsibility”, but “just because sometimes you loose, doesn’t mean you should stop trying.” That’s the core of his heroism. He’s going to pay the price, because there’s no one else who can.
