At the Dark Horse Creators Panel yesterday Eric Powell gave out no news on The Goon finally coming to theaters. Well apparently he was waiting to make the announcement on an even bigger stage, Twitter.

Just a few minutes ago Eric Powell took to Twitter to post a quick blurb followed by an image.

Ok, everybody that’s been yelling at me for us to do a Kickstarter for the Goon film.

Oh, slack-jawed punching goodness. According to the image the Kickstarter will be starting soon, but that’s all we know right now. I don’t care what the dollar goal this project is set at, with the amount of love for the property and how much the fans have wanted to see a movie, I have no doubts that the film will be funded.

It’s time for the fans to put their money where their mouth is after years of demanding a film adaptation. I’m more than willing to kick in a few bucks if it means it will look like the teaser from David Fincher and Blur we saw awhile back.

Will you be willing to make a pledge to see The Goon on the big screen? If so how much? Let us know in the comments below.
