Did you know that there is an upcoming FIFTH movie in the Resident Evil film franchise?  The apparently never-ending battle against the evil Umbrella Corp. continues, and the international teaser poster has made it’s appearance…

The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice, awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

Though never critical darlings, the Resident Evil movies have racked up nearly 700 million dollars in ticket sales around the world, making them the most successful video game movie adaptions of all time!  Resident Evil: Retribution will be released in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D on September 14th, 2012.

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

  1. Looks like this poster learned a thing or two about how to frame posteriors from Whedon and Black Widow.

  2. Yes I did know. Milla Jovovich is my favorite actress. I’m a fan of all the movies i’ve seen… which is a decent chunk. I like the resident evil series.. They jumped away from the games but still incorporate “zombies” Bio-hazard Zombies”, characters & aspects of the games but diversed away from the gameplay storyline. I think they have done an excellent job.

  3. BVK, guess you never saw the poster for Extinction since its very similar to Retributions in terms of Alice’s pose.
