Konami has a new Castlevania in the works, and what better place to show that off than E3? Take a look at the cinematic trailer after the jump.

After the success of the previous game, one can only hope Konami manages to take this sequel in the right direction. The scope of the trailer is massive, and the story Konami has up sounds good enough. I for one am looking forward to more info soon.

In Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, the origin of Dracula and his legendary connection with the Belmonts was revealed. In Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, fans can expect thrilling new twists and challenges. In this shocking conclusion to the Lords of Shadow saga, Dracula returns once again, weakened and yearning for release from his immortal bonds. Facing a new and powerful threat, the vampire lord must reacquire his old powers – and only his castle holds the key. However, the famed Belmont clan also seek his ultimate destruction.

Some points of the first Castlevania Lord of Shadows was ok, but I am not thrilled that it’s a “Belmont” that becomes Dracula. There’s speculation however over that Gabriel just took the last name of Belmont. However by the time that the Lord of Shadows came around the history of Castlevania has gotten a little convoluted. I surmise that they needed a clean break from Castlevania: Judgement, a game that should have never been made…..

A few years ago Warren Ellis wrote a script for an animated Castlevania film. When will we get to see that? I’d much rather have the film than a new game. Plus, it’s Warren Ellis, It would f’n rock, don’t you think?
