Latino Review says it has it on good authority that The Black Panther will be the next Marvel movie announced from Disney and Marvel Studios.
How do I know? Let’s say I got it from FOUR different trusted sources.
Marvel is going BIG TIME after the urban film audience and I applaud them for that. Last year, it was reported that Marvel hired Mark Bailey to pen the script and I hear the script is fantastic.
The Black Panther (T’Challa) is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics Universe. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and penciller-co-plotter Jack Kirby, he first appeared in Fantastic Four #52 (July 1966). He is the first black superhero in mainstream American comics, debuting several years before such early African-American superheroes as Marvel’s the Falcon and Luke Cage, and DC Comics’ Tyroc, Black Lightning and Green Lantern John Stewart.
So what other evidence is there that Marvel might be considering the character? Remember this shot from Iron Man 2?
I don’t remember it either but Wakanda is highlighted on the map.
Does the Latino Review claim and the shot from Iron Man mean that T’Challa is going to get his own stand alone movie in 2014? The character is very popular, and he is part of Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, so the chances are good. But with the rumors that Ant Man are on the way, I get the feeling that we may be getting prepped to see The Black Panther appear as a new member of The Avengers in Avengers 2: Kick-Ass Boogaloo.

I would pay top dollar to see Black Panther played by Wesley Snipes (via Time Machine and\or time off for good behavior.)

Iread on another site that this was debunked.
The last thing you want is the Black Panther and Captain America coming after you.
They are a natural duo.
BP makes sense in the next Avengers movie… and let’s not have the usual handful of black actors come running for the role.
He should be damn near an unknown… but, great lead.
The Black Panther deserves all the respect that his role will carry.
I’m sure that Marvel and Disney will see that it is done.
Make it so!
(Sorry Giant-man, Wasp, and Vision… in time you guys will show up before Black Knight and Wonder Man on screen!)
Seen as how they can have any stuntman wear the costume, full face mask, the acting pool is much wider.
I would say Chiwetel Ejiofor would be the best choice.
Very good call on that one.
If Sir Sidney Poitier was 50 years younger or Lawrence Fishburn was 50 pounds smaller…
I highly doubt Hollywood would do justice to a Black Panther movie. Black Panther keypoints:African King
Wakanda has never ever been subjugated by colonialism
The most technological place on earth
Technology is also in tune with nature
One of the most wealthiest countries on earth
America wants in so bad but Wakanda is like fuck you
T’Challa is married to storm
vibraniumis is one of the most scarce and tightly controled resource in the marvel world
I doubt white hollywood can portray an Africa that doesnt have a picture of disease, poverty and war.
I don’t see a Black Panther movie comming.
Alone it is too weak vs The Ant Man and all his friends.
No my crystal ball sees an Ant Man movie with the wasp as sidekick and kredit sceen wher we see Ultrons eyes change from blue to red. Da-Da-Daaaa – Avengers 3.
Donald Glover as Black Panther?
Chiwetel Ejiofor as Black Panther did you see him kick Fillion’s but in Firefly? Redbelt.. did not see.
I would say Idris Elba but he’s kinda tall, gonna have to put Downey and Evans on apple boxes.
Nonsense people. It would have be be Isaiah Mustafa… with subsequent “Look at your superhero and look at me… sadly your superhero is not me…” commercial parody. If he could pull off a believable African accent, that would make him really a good choice.
But with the mask on, they’ll probably get Lawrence Fishburne to voice over the part, like in Fantastic 4- Rise of the Silver Surfer…..
