Press Release

This Saturday is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY, an annual event that takes place in hundreds of comic shops across the nation to get fans into stores. Archie Comics is once again participating, offering up its video game adaptations, Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Each free issue provides the perfect jumping on point for anyone curious as to how these video game icons translated from pixels to print as scripted by Ian Flynn. Patrick “SPAZ” Spaziante and Ben Bates provide the art for Mega Man and Sonic, respectively, featuring brand new cover art by Chad Thomas and Tracey Yardley. Mega Man was even listed as one of Comics Alliance’s “top recommendations” for Free Comic Book Day.

The blue mascots deftly blend action/adventure with a dash of humor in their titles, offering fans everything they could want in a comic. Archie Comics have been publishing the Sonic title for going on twenty years now while Mega Man just hit the one year anniversary mark.
