What would happen if H’wood decided that Puck-Man Pac-Man needed to get the big screen treatment? If this fan film is any indication, it could be the next Short Circuit.

I couldn’t do anything more sophisticated than claymation. How do people make such films?!?
You know what? That made way more sense than the last two TRANSFORMERS movies…
Bravo!
I agree. I like that they took something so simple and made the effort to explain little things like the name PAC-Man and its purpose.
Maybe a nod to Ms. Pac Man that the female tech was named Sue? This was the name of the orange ghost in the Ms. Pac-Man game and, from the credits, does not appear to be the actress’s real name.
I’d totally watch a Pac Man movie if that’s how it was done. That was great. Just totally great.
What the last lines should have been –
“Well, did we change your mind?”
“We gave you billions of dollars and you made an f’ing computer game?!?!”
But it wasn’t a computer game. The military uses simulators all the time and this was the prototype. I appreciated the fact that they gave a real-world purpose for PAC-Man, which they explained.
If you watch closely at the following time markers, there are other game nods I noticed:
3:33 – The soldier’s name is Midway. His name tag can be more clearly seen in some other scenes (like at 4:58) but this one is closest to the ones below.
3:47 – The technician, Sue, is wearing a cherry necklace. Also, she’s so freaking cute when she delivers this line (and every other scene with her). Cherry indeed.
4:32 – The male pilot’s name is R. Kade (as seen in the user interface screen for Pac-Man.
This whole thing is brilliant!
