What do you get when you mix the superhero genre with Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None?

Answer – The Red Ten.

THE RED TEN is a 10 issue superhero retelling of Agatha Christie’s classic novel “And Then There Were None.” When the world’s greatest detective is violently murdered by her nemesis, the world’s foremost super team and her former sidekick band together to bring the villain to justice. However, the mission goes terribly wrong, and before the night is out each of the ten “heroes” will pay dearly for past transgressions.

The Red Ten #2 arrives February 29, 2012.

Whether intentional or not, the first thought that sprung to mind upon seeing the cover was that the Joker shaved his head and shot some female version of Red Robin in the Batcave.

      Good eyes, Jacin.

Yes, every member of THE RED TEN is a clear and intention analog or play on one of the traditional super team archetypes. However, they’re all fun-house mirror versions of the characters you know…and each is holding a dark secret.

From what I see there’s a clear variation on the Batman/Joker theme with the “heroes” being based on JLA and Avengers characters. It’s like Watchmen meets Agatha Christie with JLA/Avengers characters. As a huge Agatha Christie mark this is very interesting.

Yup, that’s pretty much what we’re going for TaZ, you nailed it write on the head.

I tell people THE RED TEN is how I might kill off The Justice League, if DC was ever crazy enough to let me.

      (Don’t worry…they’re not.)
