Press Release
One of the goals of Derby City Comic Con is to give back to the artists and community. In 2011, Derby City Comic Con contributed over $1500 raised at their auction of original art and collectibles to two great causes.
“It is extremely important that Derby City Comic Con return to the community some of the goodwill and support the people of the area have given the show,” Derby City Comic Con director Eric Banister said. “A lot of thought is given to who will be the charity of choice and I think this is a cause that is more than worthy.”
Derby City Comic Con is proud to announce that the recipient of the 2012 Charity Auction will be Kosair Charities. Donations from attending artists and the community will be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds donated to them.
It is through donations like this that Kosair Charities has been able to touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of “Kosair Kids” by providing them with the highest quality health care available. Without Kosair Charities many kids, whose families wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford the care their children desperately need, would have nowhere to turn.
“Just as passionate as Derby City Comic Con is about their comics and collectibles, Kosair Charities is passionate about protecting our most precious gift of all, our children,” said Vicky Weber of Kosair Charities, “It’s great to be chosen their charity of choice. Kids & Comics – what a great fit!”
