Diamond Select Toys has released the first image of Hawkeye from the upcoming Avengers movie.

Based on the likeness of actor Jeremy Renner, this 7-inch-scale Marvel Select figure comes with his trademark bow and arrows, and will look perfect alongside your other Select Avengers. Plus, he features 16 points of articulation, for a variety of action poses! Not shown is Hawkeye’s detailed display base — it combines with the base of our mystery movie villain figure to create a scene from the movie, and everything comes in oversized collector packaging, so you can show off the figure without opening it.

The figure is only available in the specialty market, and arrives in May.

Kinda looks cool, something maybe Rambo would wear, but that ain’t the Hawkeye I’m used to seeing.

I’ve been reading Avengers since 1975 and I’m really peeved about the omission of original founding members Ant Man & Wasp. I’m also not a fan of the over rated “Ultimates” series which this film seems to be based on instead of Marvel’s original and mainstream Avengers comic book series.

Why can’t professional costume designers use some imagination and creativity in bringing Hawkeye’s iconic costume to life?

Surely by incorporating Black, Blue and a minimalist amount of Dark Purple they could come up with a formidable combat uniform. But “oh no too hard – lets make it all Black”
