As the Star Trek 2 cast comes together, it looks like J.J. Abrams is picking a lot of new talent from the BBC.
First up is news that Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Sherlock Holmes in the BBC series Sherlock, has been tapped to play a villain in the movie, though at this time, we don’t know what villain he’ll play.
Also joining the cast is Noel Clarke, whom we’ve seen on and off again on Doctor Who, who will play a family man, with a wife and young daughter. I’ve seen a couple of other reports that he will also play a villain, but Paramount Pictures is mum on any of these casting announcements.
Star Trek 2 is scheduled to arrive on May 17, 2013.
