After the big news that Marvel is getting into 2012 with a big brouhaha between The Avengers and the X-Men, today we learn the first shots are going to be fired next week.

“On the eve of the biggest Marvel event—maybe ever—Ed McGuinness and I are thrilled to be the lead-in for Avengers VS X-Men,” said Loeb. “Hopefully longtime fans and first time Cable, X-Men and Avengers readers will be excited by a story that can be read entirely on its own and at the same time has lots of stocking stuffer-esque surprises just in time for the holidays.”

Two-time world champion, hardcore icon, 1/2 of the reigning WIBWF Tag Team Champions of the World!!! Bluuuuuuuuuuuuueee Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeele! I met him and Noodles MacIntyre at a signing back in ’07, couldn’t have asked for a nicer guy. Plus, there aren’t that many guys over 350 pounds who will go off the top rope like that.
