Based on the Edgar Rice Burrough’s Princess of Mars series, John Carter is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 09, 2012.  Now that the holiday season is upon us, expect to see a lot of promotional material in your local movie theater.

Disney has released three new images of giant banners that you’ll soon see in the theater to promote the movie.

The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

meh the design is good, but the computer graphic rendition lack weight and presence. It would have been better as a big budget animation movie, but I get that they don’t produce those anymore.
