What is it about The Punisher? The Marvel character has three feature movies (Thor only has one), and now word is out that Frank Castle is getting his own television series.
Fox bought the project with a commitment to air the pilot from Ed Bernero and ABC Studios. While you might be excited about seeing an adaptation of the comic vigilante, Deadline reports that this television series will be a police procedural, that features Frank Castle as a rising star detective in the NYPD who moonlights as the vigilante.
Currently in production, The Hulk, AKA Jessica Jones, and Cloak and Dagger are still in the works at ABC. Let’s see who gets their shows to air first – Fox or ABC.

*Yawn.* Wake me when the Punisher rights revert back to Marvel.
the ‘rising star detective’ part killed it. because a Punisher TV show could cool.
Seriously? Dexter works as a show where the main protagonist wraps people in plastic and murders them but they turn THE PUNISHER into a “rising star detective” in a police procedural?
ABC, you seriously don’t understand the super hero thing… disturbing since Disney owns ABC and has access to the Marvel source material…
Lame.
Meh, bring Human Target back!
Well, they say his still a vigilante at night. This could be sort of like Dexter. Cop at day – psyko at night.

I think this is much like the whole ‘Wonder Woman as rising executive’ pilot: A misunderstanding of where the character stands in their regular appearances, and that not all superheroes are Batman.
