It was a pretty mediocre weekend as far as movies go, but that didn’t keep Disney’s Real Steel from earning $27.3 million at the domestic box office. While it isn’t the summer box office take we’re used to hearing about, Real Steel did make enough money to earn it the title of highest boxing debut ever (Rocky only made $20 million). It will be a surprise if the movie makes $100 million domestically, but when international receipts are accounted for, the movie should top $100 million in a few weeks. International box office takes this weekend are estimated at $50 million.
