This year, at the New York Film Festival, Kevin Smith will host a curated screening of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension.  It sounds too good to be true, but considering the cult status Buckaroo Banzai has achieved, and knowing Smith’s love for pop culturey films, this seems like a natural choice.

W.D. Richter’s 1984 pic “Buckaroo Banzai” is shown as part of a series called “Kevin Smith’s SMoviola,” now to be a continuing series of Smith-selected pics with filmmakers and stars of the films in attendance. “Buckaroo” cast members Peter Weller and John Lithgow are set for the Oct. 15 screening.

I am sad that I will not be in NYC on October 15.
