The stories in this volume were great. The Ramadan story might be my absolute favorite issue in the Sandman series. I read it for the first time while on my honeymoon, and while it was just a one issue story, it captured all the aspects of the series that I had grown to enjoy.
The search for Destruction was where I started to love Delirium’s character, though the best Delirium moment is much later in issue 72 when she discusses “turquoises.” While the whole “OMG LiEk So RaNdOm!1!!!!!11” character has been overdone in this day and age, Delirium did it first.
This is one of my favorite sections of the Sandman run. Volume 1 is easily the most expensive comic I’ve ever bought, and I’m saving for the rest. Next, comes the epic feat of trying to get them signed. But the Sandman is hands down one of my favorite books, and I will follow Neil Gaiman to hell and back. You should do an Other Word Book on Anansi Boys.
