When the Juno spacecraft lifts off, it will have a trio of toys to play with along the way.  LEGO and NASA have teamed to send three custom aluminum LEGO Minifigs to space.

…the LEGO likeness of the Roman god, Jupiter, his sister, Juno, and the Italian astronomer, Galileo, will be there to take in all the sights and bask in the immensity of the largest planet.

The Juno spacecraft will orbit Jupiter for about a year, and then finally, de-orbit and crash into the atmosphere.

In case you are wondering, the Minifigs cost LEGO approximately $5,000 each as the toy company helped underwrite the mission.
