During the Geoff Johns/Jim Lee panel at this past weekend’s Hero Complex Film Festival, Grant Morrison appeared on the big screen to talk Action Comics. This is a fan captured video, so watch it while you can, and be prepared for a big giant head to take over your screen.
If you didn’t understand what was said, here is the official solicitation for Action Comics #1 as shared by DC Comics.
The one and only Grant Morrison (ALL-STAR SUPERMAN) returns to Superman, joined by sensational artist Rags Morales (IDENTITY CRISIS), to bring you tales of The Man of Steel unlike any you’ve ever read! This extra-sized debut issue is the cornerstone of the entire DC Universe!

I for one am looking forward to Action Comics #1 out of all the comics coming out, but this seems to sound like a Superman: Year One story. I mean there have been 100’s of origins, but I just want a good story.
If it were anyone but Morrison I’d chalk the promo up to sensationalism. But the man sets up long-running “mini-arcs” and connections to old, forgotten stories and characters like few other writers other than Cary Bates and Elliott S! Maggin from back in my youth. Even if the Action Comics focus is different than the Superman comic, I think I could still deal with it.
However, the cover has great art but with those high-water patched jeans and work-books all I can think about is “Lil’ Abner”.
