If you didn’t see all the E3 coverage other sites were doing (hey, we were busy with all the DC news), you probably missed the awesome trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic like we did (Damnit – X-Men: Schism demands attention!)

Thankfully, the Intardwebz has us covered, with this brilliant cinematic that makes me wish this was actual game play and not animated story building.

For generations the Galactic Republic knew peace, until the ancient Sith Empire returned from unknown space to reclaim what was once theirs. Watch as hundreds of years of peace is shattered by the sudden and violent reemergence of the Sith in the new Game Intro Cinematic Trailer Return.

Is it possible for something to be “too Star Wars”?

It looks neat but it’s very “star wars-y”…I honestly don’t feel anything new.

And why do the heroes always have a Millennium Falcon knock-off?

Also, space cowboy guy: super lame.

None whatsoever. Did they do a SW episode?

I agree. Visually, it’s pretty cool, but there’s nothing new here. I thought this was 1000 years before the movies? Shouldn’t things be substantially different?

Is it just me or does the space cowboy guy’s ship look scarily similar to the Millennium falcon?? nice animation tho.

Man I hope they don’t screw this up. You can do anything in an animation, but lets see how the game plays.

Good guy Master Jedi looks like Darth Maul (sorta) and he faces two foes and he stabs one bad guy much the same way that Qui Gon was stabbed and then got (what looked to be) chopped in half at the midsection.

I liked the video, it just kinda seemed a little like the Episode One fight scene.
