Alterna Comics goes to IndieGoGo to keep company alive

by

Alterna Comics has had a rough two years.  The small press publisher only publishes graphic novels, and if it doesn’t raise enough money in the next 50 days, it will have to cease operations in the next couple of years.

Our books are almost always in black and white; featuring unique stories from horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and action genres.  The company was started in 2006 by one person – Peter Simeti – who owns, operates, publishes, funds, and designs everything that the company does.  Without him, there would be no Alterna, end of story.  Peter is a substitute teacher with a love for comics and if things keep going the way they are, Alterna will have to cease operations within a year or two.

That’s where you and IndieGoGo come in.  The company has set up a fundraising page where you can donate money, and get something in return.  IndieGoGo is set up very similar to KickStarter, so if you give enough, you’ll get a perk or two (or three).  The company is trying to raise a minimum of $1,000 (though more is needed) to keep the creditors at bay and keep operations running, and books getting to the printers.
