Wow. Those are great. It’s interesting to see how the current iterations of the costumes for a lot of these characters seem to be closer to their original iterations (especially Storm and Rogue). We’ve gone full circle.
I kinda love these covers, but don’t see the point of them being on Non-X books (exception being Secret Avengers). Unless these issues guest star these characters.
In almost every case, I seem to prefer the 2nd costume choice (Rogue, Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops, Angel, Beast, Magneto).
Guess that shows the timeline for when I was an X-fan, huh?
diagnull – it is interesting, huh? I don’t prefer the mid-90s look, but it’s what I think of when i first remember the character almost every time. pizza hut x-men comics, anyone?
I like the covers. But I will likely not get any of them. I would find it annoying looking for my April edition of Captain America and not finding it because I forgot it had Rogue on it. What is the connection? Why is this an idea at all? If we want to integrate X-men in the rest of the Marvel Universe. Why not just give them guest spots in other comics like Spiderman and Wolverine have all the time. I loved the days when I found out that the next issue of what ever was going to have a guest spot with so-in-so or that there would be a rare crossover between two books.
I went through and looked at all the pictures trying to see if there was a pattern with my favorites and yeah, mostly it’s either the Pizza Hut comics as mentioned above or the 90’s X-men cartoon.
To me, Beast was best when he looked like his 2nd picture, and Sabretooth will always be the 2nd one too. I like the 4th picture of Cyclops, 3rd of Jean, 4 and 5 of Rogue, etc. No need to break them all out here, but suffice to say, most of my favorites are from the cartoon. I do like other iterations, but when I imagine Rogue, the little half jacket over the spandex green and yellow costume with the wild looking hair is always how I’ll picture her.
