What the heck is Jon wearing and why does he have a gun in space?!
Looks like a purple version of his military uniform from his old days. Maybe he was a sniper or something?
Right. A Gun of Compassion in Space.
Sigh.
Why couldn’t Jon just have a “costume” that puts him in the same heroic light as the others (no pun intended)? Without facial markings.
I like the alternate cover. That’s an interesting concept. Hal Jordan…Yellow Lantern?
And I really love Jon Stewart as a indigo lantern, military uniform and all. I think it fits perfectly with the character development that he has been going through. He definitely needs more screen time.
My guess is that he was given the ring by sinestro as Sinestro see’s that when the green lanterns go then his lanterns are next. That and the personal joy he would feel making Hal one of his members even if it is only temporary.
wouldnt sinestro feel hal is undeserving of the yellow ring… since he already feels he is undeserving of the green ring? could just be a cover, batman had the white ring for all of 6 seconds yet he got a cover in it.
Didn’t Hal take the rings of the other New Guardians right before the ‘War’ started? So, by looking at the cover, it seems that, in order to deal with the situation, he passed out the other power rings to the Guy, Kyle, and Jon. A cool idea, one I should have seen coming, but I like it none the less.
@aerspyder and @Young:
If Jon is now an ex-military sniper (more like the JLU cartoon instead of the cerebral, analytical architect he used to be in comics)…then why don’t the other costumes reflect the same logic? Hal should have a “pilot” vibe, Kyle’s should have something “artsy” going on, and Guy should have a bartender-eque outfit. OR they ALL should have a recolored variation of their normal costumes.
Maybe the story will explain why Jon is singled out. At least that bandanna (wtf???) hides Jon’s CRIMINALLY outdated “bowl cut fade” some artists keep giving him.

Probibly something to do with being in the indigo tribe? I wish I had a good answer b/c I doubt that the comic will provide one, a good one anyway . . .
Isn’t the costume a reflection of the ring bearer’s own fashion or choice? What if he just wanted the look?
OMG gang, I don’t want to be picky but… JOHN Stewart… >_< Not "Jon".
Is it just me, or does Kyle look eerily like Nightwing.
If you read green lantern number 64 when sinestro and the others got captured their rings came off and that’s how Hal got them incase anyone wanted to know
