The CW has released a series of still images from the upcoming Smallville episode featuring Blue Beetle and Booster Gold.

While Lois advises Clark on how to maintain a low profile, a new hero, Booster Gold, travels from the future to present-day Metropolis to become a media darling as a superhero. However, one of his rescues goes wrong, causing an alien scarab-weapon to attach itself to a teenage boy, growing into a battlesuit and transforming him into the Blue Beetle.

I rather like Booster Gold. I always thought he would be a fun one to create a costume for. He’s totally market driven, so you can justify any trendy outfit choice based on that. And if you get something wrong, well, he’s a time traveler, so maybe he’s outfitted for 1985, 2005, or 2025.

It’s nice to see that Geoff Johns loves Booster Gold as much as I do.

Of course, his love of Booster Gold has in turn increased my own, through his writing. I call it the Awesome Cycle.

Booster looks good, now Beetle on the other hand… They really should have gone for the Ted Kord suit, Reyes’ suit is really hard to do pull off on a limited budget (it pretty much has to be completely CGI)

Blue Beetle looks like a Power Rangers villain.

To be fair, on power rangers, the creative teams on super sentai actually put time and effort into each monster.

But yeah, they should have gone with a more sleek design.
