I think we already know that Spider-Man is joining the FF (aka the Future Foundation), but what we didn’t know was how involved the wall crawler would be in the series. We’ll find out how long he lasts in FF when the Sinister Six begin to plot away in Amazing Spider-Man #658 and #659.
“Spidey and the FF are really what Marvel is all about. And with both books firing on all cylinders right now, I couldn’t be happier to see their worlds overlap more” says Marvel Senior Editor, Stephen Wacker. “All of this is building up to some big moments for Spidey as his work with the FF comes at a pretty crucial time in his life. It’s going to be a dramatic summer for Spidey… to say the least.”

I like Spidey’s new design, but every time I see that costume, I think of Spidey infected by Mr. Negative or something.
It’s great to see the two fan favorite series getting together, but did they really need all this hubbub and killing Johnny Storm to do it?
Love it. I’m all about it. I’d be very happy to see Spidey join the FF permanently. It makes much more sense than the Avengers ever did.
I agree with Scott, Spidey tried to join in his first comic! He definitely shares a personality and humour with the FF which I’ve always felt was a poor fit for the Avengers. We all know that he’s in the Avengers because he’s popular with the READING PUBLIC but that makes no sense in the Marvel Universe. It’s the same with Batman – how can he be a scary mythical vigilante legend in Gotham and a standard cape and tights superhero in the Justice League everywhere else?
“how can he be a scary mythical vigilante legend in Gotham and a standard cape and tights superhero in the Justice League everywhere else?” Actually, the way both Bruce Wayne and now Dick Grayson have been written with the JLA he continued to be a “scary mythical vigilante” in the JLA. In fact, it is the fact that Batman’s not a “super” hero but a “legend” that made him the ad-hoc leader that so many JLA teams differed to over the years. Dick Grayson has had such an experience as the field leader of other superpowered team-mates that even being the “Semi-Dark Knight” makes him a leader.
But I agree completely that Peter Parker fits better in the FF than the Avengers. It would be nice to see Parker have a “real” family and I’m interested especially to see the dynamic between Spiderman and The Thing as well as Spiderman and Reed Richards. Peter Parkers’ long history in academics and science would also make for an interesting pairing with Richards. Somebody around there’s got to be as smart as Reed Richards, Tony Stark and Hank Pym.
And, by the way, I like the white/black costume and I love that second panel with the Richards, Ben and Spiderman. Let’s hope that this isn’t just a “six issues to get your interest and he’s out” deal.
