MAJOR SPOILERS POLL OF THE WEEK
We’re all trying to be better stewards of the planet at Major Spoilers, but sometimes trying to be green leads to a bit of conflict – especially when Marvel and DC are involved. This week it is the battle of the creatures from the bog; Swamp Thing and Man-Thing.
MAJOR SPOILERS DISCUSSION: Aphrodite IX
Aphrodite IX Trade Paperback collects issues #1-4 of the series of the same name as well as the hard to find issue #0 plus incredible bonus art by Marc Silvestri (Civil War: The Initiative, Hunter-Killer), Joe Benitez (Supergirl), and Michael Turner (Superman/Batman, Ultimate Wolverine). Aphrodite IX is the perfect weapon, only she doesn’t know it. She’s programmed to kill and then erases all memory of her mission and her former life, like a reset button was hit in her mind. Now the ideal assassin wants to know who programmed her and she won’t stop until she finds out!

I am very much looking forward to Hack/Slash: My First Maniac. Sadly, I never picked up the last issue and by the time I got back into my comic store to look for it, they no longer had it. I’m likely to buy the trade though because Tim Seely’s art is all kinds of awesome and there is nothing cooler than skimpy skirts and a bloody baseball bat! (Maybe adding in a monster friend in a gas mask could be cooler …)
website exlusive? don’t c it on iTunes
If you subscribe via iTunes, it is there. If you simply go to iTunes, and expect it to be there right away, there may be a delay, but ALL shows are ALWAYS available via iTunes.
Since a certain person is a bit silly and didn’t want to listen to his nurse wife for ages becuse apparently medicine is the evil or something :P
If you have chest trouble again steam also works, I know because both by brother have had asthma in the past, and it was used before the glories of inhalers where invented. So close yourself in a bathroom and run a hot shower or boil some water.
For the record, I don’t think medicine is evil, I simply think it is overused, and certain drugs and prescriptions are issued when they really don’t need to be. This causes the body to build up immunity to the drugs, which requires more powerful drugs down the road to do the same thing. That is why I don’t like using prescribed drugs for something like a cold/flu. I’m not like Jim Henson who refused any kind of medical treatment, and I’m certainly not Johnny Dimebag who thinks every sniffle or cough demands a heavy regiment of antibiotics.
I call scientologist, burn him at the stake!
Seriously thou, you make a very good point, we used to eat stuff off the floor when we were kids (as I recall dirt was pretty tasty) got cuts and broke a bone here and there and were are healthier then most of the kids nowdays who can’t turn a knob without their moms running for the hand sanitizer. The over use of antibiotics is the main reason for resistant diseases, that been said… dude after 3 days of been sick take a pill or something!
I don’t think I ever said Xenu would cure me, so your scientologist argument out. :P
Man-Thing did have a movie. It came out in the early 2000’s and went straight to video. It is terrible. Not even so terrible that it is hilarious. Mostly just terrible.
The only plus side is that they do in fact force the phrase “Nexus of all realities” into the movie.
You must watch it if you haven’t seen it!
