Mercy Thompson inhabits two worlds without truly belonging to either. To the human inhabitants of the Tri-Cities she’s an oddity, a female mechanic operating her own garage. To the town’s darker residents, werewolves, vampires, and fae, she’s a walker, a last-of-her-kind magical being with the power to become a
coyote.
Mercy warily straddles the fine line dividing our everyday world from that darker dimension. Till a boy, mauled by vicious werewolves and forever changed by the attack and on the run from those who committed the crime, appears at her door. Now her two worlds are about to collide. Outnumbered and out-muscled, can Mercy possibly save the boy? Or even herself?
Mercy Thompson: Moon Called volume 1 #1 begins Dynamite’s eight-part adaptation of Patricia Briggs first Mercy novel. Personally supervised by Ms. Briggs, the series is sure to thrill fans both old and new!

MAJOR SPOILERS POLL OF THE WEEK
Marvel Zombies vs. Marvel Vampires
MAJOR SPOILERS DISCUSSION: Wraithborn
The Wraithborn power is normally given to a specially chosen warrior, someone who has trained for decades to wield the power and fight the Immortals. But, due to “unforeseen circumstances”, the power is passed on to an ordinary high school girl who doesn’t know anything about what’s going on, but she’s got to figure things out fast because a lot of “people” (including the Immortals) are coming after her.
The book is a supernatural, dark fantasy story inspired by folklore and mythologies from around the world. The idea being that all these legends were based on some truth, that gods and demons and angels and so forth really do exist, and once walked this earth. But one day, they all seemed to vanish, and eventually we just wrote them off as fiction. But they’re still around, and they’re trying really hard to get back and reclaim their former “lordship and dominion” over all humankind.

“Zombie love spread all over” “vampires exploding in your face”, to quote Buffy: Stephen some time you shouldn’t say words…
I love the reason Rodrigo picked the comics to review, if you hear them in the voice of Stewie Griffin it’s even more awesome.
In the case of X-Men #1, vampires literally were exploding in everyone’s face… so there…
Geez, even I have a KAB award…1998 Best :30 Second Commercial, Budget Less than $500 (Non Metro Market Television) I may have been the only entry in the category.
bullet to the head is original a french book called headshot. the reason why it doesn’t really work as a monthly published magazine, is because it wasn’t meant for that format.
I have to agree that it is a cool series though.
Wow, great show guys, as always. I was very surprised to hear there would be a review of this old series when it was first announced. I confess that the promotional posters and the cover art enticed me to collect the issues, and every one of you hit the hammer on so many factors that intrigues and preplexes me to this day (ie. the transitions of the end of the 2nd issue and the 1st page of the third). My hats off to all of you for an objective, well-rounded discussion of the matter, and I hope to hear you guys tackle similar books in the future.
