When Grant Morrison and Yanick Paquette’s Batman, Inc. arrives in November, the Dark Knight will be sporting a new costume. While it isn’t as drastic a change as Wonder Woman, there are some changes that might seem off to long time Batman readers.
DC released the cover to Batman, Inc. and if the inside art is as good as the cover, I think we’re all in for a treat.

The Oval is back, and I’m not sure if I like that or not.
The oval I can deal with. It’s this “Batman, Inc.” deal that I can’t get my mind around. I haven’t seen a lot of spoilers on it but if it means that all of a sudden Batman’s got his own Justice League: Nightwing/Batman II(?), Robin, Red Robin (YYYYYUUUUUUMMMMMMMMM!), Batgirl, Oracle, Azrael, Batwoman, Catwoman and the Outsiders, then that could possibly work. Let Dick Grayson stay with the Justice League as their cerebreal crusader and allow Bruce to kick ass, take names and look cool with his yellow oval and his solid steel codpiece.
I also forgot the Knight and Squire, Man-Bat, Flamebird and The Huntress.
You know, Diana Lance is single again. Catwoman/Black Canary cat fight anyone?
Nice codpiece.
New comics joke: “What’s steel and keeps out cats? Batman’s codpiece.”
Actually, it’s not a bad idea for a non-powered hero. A crack to Big Jim and the Twins by a villian with super-strength would pretty much insure that Damian stays the only biological child of Bruce Wayne.

I don’t see the problem… The way Bruce adopts, he’ll have FIFTY heirs to the Wayne fortune soon enough.
I’m surprised Jason Todd hasn’t just gone ahead and knocked Dick, Damian and Tim off just so that he can get the money.
Since Jason died and was gone for so long, wouldn’t that preclude any chances that he has of legally getting any inheritance? Maybe not though, some people leave all their money to cats, so who knows?
The oval is not working for me.
I kinda like the oval, for the reasons that he’s given before, that it essentially acts as a focal point for criminals to shoot at and it happens to be the most heavily armored spot on his body. Better to shoot at the kevlar/steel plate than his meaty partly exposed head face.
Unless he’s got the glow, then not even Sho’nuff could take the brother down with a bullet.
I like the costume — especially replacing the trunks/tights with pants (and codpiece).
It occurs to me that there are lots of pictures on net of soccer players with tents in their shorts ( http://www.kickette.com/short-tent-v-bulge-a-study-in-mens-shorts/ ) — wouldn’t this happen to superheroes as well? You’d think Flash and Green Lantern, with their unitards, would be a little worried about flashing the stress-erections….
i hate the oval i like the plain black bat on the suit (like what he wore before and what dick wears now). i am not pleased. this makes me think of keaton-man.
Yay! Welcome back yellow oval!
It’s about time, too!
I think the orginal rumor about Bruce becoming a new god is true and that’s what we were seeing in issue 2. this is probably dick grayson.
Mayhaps, but an interview on another site talked about how Batman, Inc. would be the end result of “the return of Bruce Wayne to the role of Batman”. Given the title (Batman, Inc.) I’d say that the probabilty is that BOTH Wayne and Greyson will have a Batman persona. Can’t figure out how they’re going to pull that off but that’s why they keep writing and we keep buying…
Batman, Inc. is going to be more a Brave and the Bold series without the name Brave and the Bold. Expect a bunch of different heroes teaming with Batman, not just the Bat Family.
