While many fans disliked the first G.I. Joe movie from Paramount, the flick did make $320 million worldwide, which means it had something going for it. Perhaps it was director Stephen Sommers, which makes the rumor that he is returning to head the sequel seem more fact than fiction. There was word that the studio and director were at odds during the closing days of production of the first film, but when you make twice what the movie cost, often that bad blood relationship turns into OMFG BFF! SQUEE! We’ll see if The Wrap gets this one right, or if it is simply wishful thinking.

I was just wondering if there was a plan to make a sequel to this earlier this week. Overall I enjoyed the GI Joe film, even with it’s flaws. Got high hopes for a sequel now that the origin story is out of the way. Get on with the crazy over the top action, add a ton more Joes, not just names guys in the background.. and someone, please get Cobra Commander his proper attire.
Ugh! Now they will definately end up finding out that Cobra commander is Duke’s father and that Duke and Scarlet are brother and sister. Then in the third movie they will blow up the death st… er the Deep Sea Cobra base with the giant Ice cannon. I’m not saying they totally ripped the ending of star wars but…. okay so I am.
Pass!
